EESW Student of the Year Award 2024
The EESW Student of the Year Award 2024 celebrates the remarkable achievements of the students that took part in the EESW Sixth Form Project working with Industry and Welsh Universities, during the last academic year.
The winner of the EESW Student of the Year award is Chloe Radford from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Edern with runners up, Carys Williams from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Edern and Morgan Bleasdale from Kings Monkton School.
The awards were announced at the Welsh Automotive Forum’s Annual Networking Dinner, celebrating its 25th Anniversary, at the Vale Resort, Hensol on 5th of December November 2024.
Following the announcement, the three students had a further surprise when they were invited, by management of Aston Martin Lagonda (AML), to a VIP tour of their Production & Technology Centre in St Athans to celebrate their achievements.
The experience took place on Thursday 16th of January 2025, where the students, invited guests and EESW staff, had a tour right through the journey of the production of the Aston Martin Lagonda vehicles manufactured at the site in St Athans.
The hosted tour involved excellent presentations by various AML staff from each of the stages of production, right the way through to seeing the final completed vehicles ready for dispatch to customers.
The icing on the cake for the day was when the students and guests were invited to be passengers in cars on the test track, with AML drivers demonstrating the capabilities of the vehicles, which was an exhilarating experience for all!
EESW are extremely grateful to Aston Martin Lagonda for providing this VIP experience to the students, inspiring them, and celebrating their success in our EESW Student of the year awards 2024.
