F1 in Schools’ Owain Roberts Powers Ahead in Motorsport Engineering

Owain Roberts, a talented engineer from Anglesey, has made a name for himself in the high-octane world of motorsport as a Simulator Development Engineer for Jaguar TCS Racing. His remarkable journey from a small village school to the pinnacle of motorsport engineering is a testament to his dedication and the opportunities provided by the F1 in Schools programme.

Owain's passion for engineering took root at Ysgol Gynradd Y Talwrn, where he first participated in the primary school version of F1 in Schools. His early success laid the foundation for a career that would see him rise through the ranks of motorsport engineering. After winning the National Championship, he progressed to Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni, where he joined Team Drive in the senior F1 in Schools competition. The team’s hard work earned them a spot in the World Finals, as well as Owain's induction into the prestigious Williams Engineering Academy—an honour reserved for the brightest young talents in the field.
